Baxter State Park
Information
Description - On March 3rd, 1931, Pervical Baxter donates to the State of Maine the first of 28 tracts of land in Piscataquis County. Those donations combined to form Baxter State Park, a wilderness area of more than 200-thousand acres, including Maine's tallest mountain, the one known as Katahdin.
