Information
Description - In 1919, 57,000 acres on Mount Desert Island become the first national monument property in the eastern United States. In 1930, John D. Rockefeller Jr. and landscape architect Beatrix Jones Farrand, designed and oversaw the construction of a 50-mile network of carriage trails and granite bridges that we now know today as Acadia National Park.
